Massage / Bodywork Modalities:
Orthopedic/Therapeutic/ Medical /Integrated Manual Massage: An integrated approach done for those with chronic pain, repetitive motion issues, sports injuries and structural imbalances. This modality uses a protocol that opens up and balances out tight, constricted muscles with those that are weak and inhibited. Affected muscles are warmed, stretched, and prepared with myofascial release, cross fiber gliding, and compression techniques. Then depending on issues present; therapist will utilize joint capsule release, multidirectional friction, trigger point therapy, and eccentric contraction. Sessions end with discussion and demonstration of an appropriate Homecare Approach consisting of Active Isolated Stretching and Integrated Positional Therapy Techniques that will help ensure the continuation of the therapeutic benefits made during the session. Integrated Positional Therapy (IPT): A cutting edge protocol based on the Osteopathic techniques of Strain/Counter Strain(SCS) and Muscle Energy Techniques(MET) SCS slackens and relaxes muscles, while MET lengthens and stretches them. Using both together helps restore the client's imbalanced musculature. This practice can be completely independently or in conjunction with other modalities. Sports Massage: POST EVENT THERAPY enhances one's recovery process from their workout/training regiment by flushing waste products from the body at a quicker pace. PRE EVENT WORK helps balance out muscles, increases flexibility / range of motion and circulation. It can also assist in injury prevention and enhance one's athletic performance. Rock Tape: A special type of kinesiology tape that has 180 % elongation and stretches in both directions unlike any other kinesiology tape. ROCK TAPE decompresses inflamed nerves, compressed muscle and blood vessels. It helps those who are experiencing pain, inflammation, poor posture, and can also help in scar reduction. When taped, the skin is lifted away from soft tissue below so there is less compression, resulting in better blood flow, circulation and faster recovery. The brain interprets that there is less pain and that it is safe to create movement. Movement is KEY in recovery. Being taped can help create this movement. It is believed that ROCK TAPE can reduce swelling by 50% in 12 hours time. Rock Tape is LATEX FREE and can be worn 24/7 up to 5 days.
